Accepting these Terms

By using Jootl, as a guest or with an account, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Jootl.

What Jootl is

Jootl is a browser-based word and category game with Solo play, Friend Rooms, Ranked matches and a Daily Challenge.

Guest play and accounts

Some modes can be played as a guest. Others require an account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for activity on your account. Choose a username that isn't offensive or impersonating someone else.

Fair play

Jootl is a competitive game. You agree not to:

• use automated tools, scripts or bots to play or submit answers;
• try to see challenge content before a round starts, or otherwise get around game rules;
• manipulate rankings, ratings or leaderboards, including with multiple accounts;
• interfere with, overload or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service;
• harass other players or submit abusive content.

Your answers and feedback

Answers you submit are used to run games: scoring, results, leaderboards and improving the word lists. Feedback you send may be used to improve Jootl.

Rankings and game outcomes

Scoring, word lists, ratings, ranks and progression rules may change as the game evolves. Results and ratings may be recalculated or corrected, for example to fix errors or address abuse.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Jootl available, but it may be interrupted, changed, or have features added or removed at any time.

Suspension and deletion

We may restrict, suspend or delete accounts where reasonably necessary to address abuse, cheating, security risks or breaches of these Terms. You can delete your account at any time from your Profile page.

Jootl's content

The Jootl name, design, game and software are protected. You may not copy or reuse them beyond normal personal use of the game. Names of people, brands, places and other things that appear as answers belong to their respective owners and are used only as game answers.

No warranty

Jootl is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Jootl is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, rankings or progress, arising from your use of the game. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under law that cannot be excluded.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. When we do, we will update the effective date on this page. Continuing to use Jootl after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
